Among its rolling green hills, ancient woodland, open skies and winding lanes, life seems to move to a gentler rhythm. Bruton has long drawn people seeking a closer connection to nature, creativity and community. It is a place where walking, swimming, movement, good food and time outdoors become part of the everyday, offering space to breathe, reset and find a little equilibrium.
For our Big Brue guests, we wanted wellness to feel like a natural extension of that landscape: not an escape from the festival, but part of its rhythm.
Together with our sponsor, Ancient + Brave, we have created a very special programme of movement, restoration and ritual, curated by local yoga and massage practitioner Lisa Butler.
Ancient + Brave’s philosophy centres on simple daily rituals, nature, nourishment, movement, rest and community, making this a particularly natural collaboration for Big Brue. Their own approach considers wellness across the course of the day, from morning rituals that create a moment of calm and renewal to evening rituals that encourage us to slow down and rest.
Together, we have brought together this thoughtful collection of teachers, practitioners and experiences especially for Big Brue guests. Lisa’s curation reflects the character of Somerset itself: grounded rather than glossy; restorative without being earnest; active, social and open to everyone.
Move. Breathe. Stretch. Sweat. Plunge. Walk the Big Brue way.
The Big Brue festival is about ideas, debate, culture, food, music, nature and community sharing the same space. So, across the weekend, find your own ritual and you won’t want to leave Bruton by the end of it.
