Catherine Goodman is one of Britain’s leading contemporary painters, known for intensely observed works that explore landscape, the human figure and the emotional power of paint itself. Working across drawing, portraiture and large-scale painting, her practice combines technical rigour with a deeply personal engagement with memory, perception and place. Alongside her own acclaimed artistic career lately represented by Hauser & Wirth, she is co-founder of the Royal Drawing School, which has played a major role in championing observational drawing and accessible arts education in Britain. Her work reflects a lifelong belief in drawing and painting not simply as aesthetic practices, but as ways of seeing, thinking and paying attention to the world.
