FLIPPING THE NARRATIVE
What happens when other people’s ideas about who you are begin to define your life? Women have long been assigned roles by family, society and the media, and judged against expectations of beauty, success, behaviour and emotional composure. Reclaiming the right to tell your own story can be both an act of resistance and a means of change.
Model and Gurls Talk founder Adwoa Aboah, artist and educator Catherine Goodman, and Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding come together across generations and creative disciplines to explore public image, vulnerability and self-expression. How do we escape identities imposed upon us? Can art, storytelling and speaking honestly about struggle change the way women see themselves? And how can women help one another find the confidence and freedom to become the authors of their own lives?
