5x15: Can Britain Be ‘Great’ Again?
Britain is going through something of a crisis of confidence, shaped by questions about what it once was, what it is today and what it wants to become. But beyond the familiar arguments about decline and national identity, people are still finding practical and inspiring ways to shape a better future: generating new ideas, creating opportunities, building businesses and passing their experience on to the next generation. What do these endeavours reveal about Britain at its best, and how might they help the country recover a more positive sense of self?
In this special event presented in partnership with 5x15, five speakers from the worlds of culture, diplomacy, law and business each have fifteen minutes to offer a personal perspective on how Britain might rediscover a sense of purpose, possibility and ambition.
Hosted by Big Brue co-founder Eleanor O’Keeffe, the event brings together film producer Tim Bevan, diplomat Lindsay Skoll, human-rights lawyer Jason McCue and Octopus Energy founder Greg Jackson, with a fifth speaker to be announced.
