Helena Drysdale
Author and literary critic
Helena Drysdale is the author of several acclaimed books, including Mother Tongues, Strangerland, Dancing with the Dead and Looking for George. Her writing interweaves memoir, history, biography and travel. Her books have been named books of the year by several national publications and shortlisted for the Thomas Cook Award and PEN/Ackerley Prize. Dancing with the Dead became a Channel 4 documentary. A former literary and art critic, editor and university lecturer, Helena holds a PhD from the University of Exeter and lives in Bruton.
