Somerset’s myths, legends and particular energy have long inspired fashion designer Alice Temperley, becoming part of the visual language and personal story behind her work. For Guy Hayward of the British Pilgrimage Trust, the county is also a place of pilgrimage, with Glastonbury at the heart of one of Britain’s most resonant sacred landscapes. Alongside Somerset writer Emma Craig, whose forthcoming book The Sound of the Sky takes the county as its subject, they consider how landscape shapes creativity, identity and belonging. The conversation is chaired by Bruton-based author Helena Drysdale, whose own writing interweaves memoir, history, biography and travel.
